Meet the friendly staff at Excelsior Animal Hospital!
Dr. Keyes is a 1990 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and has been owner of the hospital since 1995. She has also owned Victoria Veterinary Care since 2007. She enjoys the relationships she has formed over the years with her clients and their pets through the practice of general medicine, surgery, and dentistry. She especially enjoys working with her feline patients and their needs. She resides in Excelsior with her two daughters, two cats, and a “Frank” (shih tzu/poodle). When not working, she enjoys spending time in sunny Arizona or volunteering her time through her church or mission work in Haiti.
Dr. Parrott graduated in 2007 from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and pain management. Dr. Parrott lives in Hopkins with his wife Anne, children Esme and August, and his goofy and loveable Golden Retriever Gary. Dr. Parrott joined Excelsior Animal Hospital in 2007.
Dr. Martin graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and entomology before graduating from St. George’s University in 2008. Dr. Martin has a special interest in dermatology, internal medicine and surgery. She has three miniature pinschers named Tamara (a rescue), Loki, and Grasshooper (a rescue), and a mix-breed rescue from Grenada named Manicou. Outside of work, she likes spending time with her husband, as well as her pets, with traveling and fishing. She enjoys being an advocate for any animal’s health. The most rewarding part of her job is being able to transform a sick pet back to a happy, healthy pet.
Jessy graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota in 1997 with a A.A.S degree in Veterinary Technology, she has work as a CVT with Dr Patricia Keyes for 20 years and is the Practice Manager for both of Dr Keyes’ Veterinary Clinics, Excelsior Animal Hospital and Victoria Veterinary Care. Her special interests include client education, nutrition, and animal behavior. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cheering on and coaching her daughter in her activities, and spending time with her family (both the people and animals). She lives with her husband (Curt) daughter (Sara) 4 cats (Jasmine, Jackson, Neo, and Alaska) 1 dog (Zeke) and 1 guinea pig (Emma)
Stephanie graduated from Medical Institute of Minnesota in 1994 with a A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology. She joined our staff in January 2015. Stephanie has a special interest in radiology and animal behavior. In her free times she enjoys spending time with her family and canine companion, Tank. Fishing and walking in the woods with dog and children in tow are 2 of her favorites. She has a home in Victoria with her husband, Paul, 3 children and loveable Labrador, Tank.
Judy grew up in Minnesota, graduated from the University of Minnesota and married an officer in the US Air Force. She followed him around the country and overseas, supporting his career, living in many interesting places and holding jobs with a bank, an insurance company and as a Civil Servant. While stationed in Yorktown VA, they divorced and Judy went back to school, intent on becoming a veterinary technician. She graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in Weyer's Cave VA in 2012, passed the national board exam and practiced as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Virginia. In 2015 Judy moved home to Minnesota and transferred her professional designation to a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). She came to Excelsior Animal Hospital in June 2017 and is thrilled to be part of the family here. She has one son, a student at the University of Minnesota, and one dog, a “foster fail” named Chell. She is a avid reader, cook, and bird-watcher. She enjoys hiking with the dog, and hopes to learn to cross-country ski this winter. Her veterinary interests include client education, laboratory work and nursing.

Kelly is finishing school at Dakota Technical College for the veterinary Technology program, Kelly has a particular interest in pet nutrition, dentistry and small animal medicine. Kelly is Originally from Chicago Illinois and is currently loving all the wonderful outdoor activities Minnesota has to offer. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends, cooking and playing with her animals her dogs Piper and Remington, cat Mikko, 2 Guinea Pigs Miss Piggy and Sam Elliot, 2 chinchillas Bubba and Raisin and last but not least her Fire Skink Lizard named Borat.
Ryley joined the team at Excelsior Animal Hospital in June 2017. Ryley is originally from Eagan MN, and currently resides in Excelsior with her dog Willow, and two cats Luca and Leo. She is currently enrolled in college courses at Dakota County Technical College. Ryley enjoys learning and expanding her knowledge in the veterinary field, and has a big spot in her heart for cats. In her spare time, she enjoys going outdoors, art, and spending time with friends and family.
Jazmin joined the team at Excelsior Animal Hospital in April of 2014. She immediately fell in love with the Excelsior community and it was not long before she decided this was where she wanted to live. Originally from Hopkins, MN, Jazmin currently resides in Excelsior with her dog and three cats. In her spare time, Jazmin enjoys kayaking, biking, and spending time with friends. Working with and caring for animals has always been a passion of Jazmin’s and she is thrilled to be doing it with such an amazing team!
Jessica joined the team in June of 2015 and is currently taking online classes for Veterinary Technician. She also has an eager mind to learn and further her career in the veterinarian field while working here. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors and spending quality time with her family and friends. She is originally from Waconia but now resides in Norwood Young America with her cat, Stanley.
Born and raised in Excelsior, MN Joni has lived here and in other near neighboring cities her whole life. In July 1995 at age seventeen she started working part time off and on for Dr. Patty Keyes at Excelsior Animal Hospital Her primary responsibilities have always been kennel attendant however, she has also done front desk reception as well as veterinary assistant. Though this is not Joni’s primary occupation, her love for animals especially dogs, makes her feel whole and being a part of a great team at Excelsior Animal Hospital. She treasures all that she has learned over the years. She and her husband Oscar have two black lab mixes, Layla and Luke. In Joni’s spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, fur babies, family and friends. When time allows, she loves to go swimming, horseback riding and traveling. Her and her husband enjoy country music as well as salsa dancing. They have visited different cities for country music festivals.
